Louisiana Haunted Houses
Louisiana, known as the "Pelican State" is a tribute to the official state bird, the brown pelican, which is
native to Louisiana. The State flag even features the bird with the design consisting of the pelican group
from the state seal, in white and gold, and a white ribbon bearing the state motto, "Union, Justice, and Confidence",
on a field of a solid blue. This flag was in adopted 1912.
Haunted houses are plentiful in southern towns like New Orleans.
