Florida, known as "Sunshine State". It was adopted as the State Nickname by the 1970 Legislature. Previously, official sanction
for this nickname could be inferred from the law requiring use of Sunshine State on motor vehicle licenses." Central Florida is
known as the lightning capital of the United States, as it experiences more lightning strikes than anywhere else in the country.
No mater what the weather, Florida residents can be found at their local haunted house during fall.

FWB Jaycees Haunted House
Are you Brave Enough?
The Fort Walton Beach Jaycees 2008 Haunted House at HarborWalk Village Destin, FL will be open on October 17-18,23-25 & 29 - Nov. 1 from 7:00pm until everyone is scared away! Tickets are $8.00.
Halloween Kid's Day on October 25th from 12-3. Children 13 and under will be admitted Free. The lights will be turned on and we will have friendly characters.
The Fort Walton Beach Jaycees and the Northwest Florida Ballet are co-sponsoring an American Red Cross Vein Drain Blood Drive on October 4th from 11:00-4:30pm in Santa Rosa Mall! The kick-off event for the FWB Jaycees Annual Haunted House and the Northwest Florida Ballet performance of Dracula!
