California, known as the The Golden State. The nickname was made the official in 1968. It is particularly appropriate
since California's modern development can be traced back to the discovery of gold in 1848 and fields of golden poppies
can be seen each spring throughout the state. The Golden State Museum is also the name of a new museum slated to open
in late 1998 at the California State Archives in Sacramento. The museum's exhibits will bring to life the momentous
events of California's history through a series of innovative, interpretive exhibits.
The California heat won't keep people from visiting a haunted house or two.

This is a great site filled with info of real Haunted Houses where real ghosts wreak havoc inside. Michael J. Kouri has appeared on international television & now gives tours of the most haunted sites in Pasadena, California.
Tour 13 sites from restaurants to houses where things go bump during the day and night and a haunted bridge where a man was buried alive and hundreds took their lives during the great depression.
You might see a ghost or two yourself. The fee is very reasonable.
I highly recommend this tour and website to anyone interested in real Haunted Houses. If you Dare!

This year’s theme will be “Curse of the Goul Mines” based on the history of Santa Clarita Valley’s Mining History told with fictional spin. Experience a chance encounter with “The lady in Blue” or “Martha” that is known and often seen from reports over the years in the Newhall Ranch House. Take a tour through this Haunted house and witness it’s paranormal activity first hand. Enter the “Goul Mines” if you dare, and if you’re not careful, they may have you join them in the mines! Now step into the “Haunted Forrest”, and if you proceed with caution, you may find a way out!

Dragon's Head Inn
Three huge haunts, one great attraction. The """"Carnival of Carnage"""" has the most twisted clowns and carnies you will ever meet. """"Dragon's Head Inn"""" is crawling with vampires and werewolves both out to get YOU! Then the """"Labyrinth"""" is a twisted visual terror that you have to see to believe. There is something for everyone.
